Mayfield House Kindergarten is all about a unique and creative childcare and nursery setting in the heart of Kidderminster.
We value the principles of education for the WHOLE child.
In other words, we instil the values of creativity and nurture, through exploration and play to help children to learn and grow.
At Mayfield we base the learning on natural and traditional care and education. We promote healthy, fresh, home-grown, and home-cooked food from baby purees onwards. Through a nurturing and enabling environment and highly experienced staff we form good relationships with parents and children. We also have a physically active and outdoor lifestyle: from baby yoga to days in the forest and allotment. Furthermore, our creative curriculum encourages drama, dance, music and expressive craftwork.
This is ensures our practice at Mayfield is all about hands-on experiential learning.
Our ethos and curriculum have been influenced by the philosophies and teaching styles of Froebel, Montessori, High Scope and Reggio Emilio, and more recently through contributing to E.E.L. (The Effective Early Learning Research Project).
